Welcome to Cornflower Quilts!
I’m Iryna,
I love making things. Whether it’s quilting, sewing, painting, fabric dying or collaging, cooking or baking. .For me, any craft is an expressive form of meditation – it creates peace and joy in my soul.
Quilting holds a special place in my heart. I like everything in that process! My first quilt I made more than twenty years ago, when I was pregnant with my daughter. It was an Irish Chain pattern and I fell in love with the quilting right away! She still has that quilt!
In quilts, I like a bit of everything, from traditional to contemporary, or art quilts.
I try different styles and techniques in order to find my voice. I’m still on that road!
I love traditional quilts for their visual balance and organization. Modern and art quilts for their expression of freedom and creativity. I started to dye my own fabric, print and carve my own stamps. I started to repurpose material and use tea bags in my art quilts.
I’m a lover of history and different cultures. Especially I fascinated by Japan.. I admire how, with modern warming, they preserve their ancient traditions and handicrafts. In my quilts I often use Japanese motifs and patterns.
At home, I have great support from my husband and our awesome daughter. And I’m grateful for it!
Here I share my creative adventures.
I try my best to share in my social media all my work.
I love to hear from you, so please email me comments and questions anytime at Contact.

Much love,
Iryna.
